Poussin-Shepherds-of-Arcadia
A lot has been said of this painting, it is said to contain hidden sacred geometry etc. and this is said to relate to the Rennes-le-Château affair. One of the parchments allegedly found by Saunière and also said to be connected to the painting by Poussin, (’The Shepherds of Arcadia’ where four figures appear to be outside a tomb and it is inscribed, ”Et in Arcadia Ego (”I too was in Arcadia”) Is said to have been decoded in Paris and thought to state/imply, ‘Jesus had come to live in France his wife, Mary Magdelene. Further, the document explained that their progeny initiated a dynasty which is known to us as the Merovingian Kings of France. The coded message is thought to read:
“To King Dagobert II and to Sion belongs this treasure, and he is dead there” was interpreted to refer to the above. The “treasure,” (secret of the Jesus bloodline) belonged to Dagobert II, a Merovingian king, and to the Priory of Sion. “And he is dead there,” which is thought to have referred to the tomb containing the body of Jesus -”Et in Arcadia ego” is an anagram of:
“I! Tego arcana dei”: “Depart! I hold the secrets of God.” Some people also draw attention to what they feel is a similarity of the countryside in the background of The Shepherds of Arcadia, to the surrounding countryside of Rennes. Don’t get to excited about the mention of ‘The Priory Of Sion’ here. As it is possible that this group did exist at one time but may have bore no relation to the recent group that was fairly well discredited calling themselves by the same name.
